Before you land
Schiphol has a train that is honestly hard to miss, and a few that go the long way. Install, then follow the train board. Centraal is the front door.
Getting around
Trams plus walking cover almost everything. Bikes are for people who already know the rings. Trains to Haarlem, Utrecht, or Brussels are the day trips, and Brussels is the moment a country plan becomes the wrong product.
