IST is a long ride in; SAW is the other airport. Both have official taxis and a transit option that is easier to trust with a live map. Install on the plane.
Getting around
Istanbulkart covers tram, metro, ferry, and bus. Ferries are the correct way across when the bridges are a parking lot. Google Maps is good; the ferry time is the thing to double-check.
Practical notes
Cash still matters in the bazaar. Plugs are type C and F. Museum passes are digital enough that a screenshot is wise.
